Forrest Re-accreditation Presentation

Forrest Badminton Club has been running for 46 years and now has a regular structure of Junior Coaching, Adult Coaching, and League Matches.

The club is now the first club to be re-accredited with the Club Mark standard of a club operating at a good standard.

This year the club has also been involved in the Greater Manchester Junior League and has seen many young people join their seniors teams and move into the County Squad.

Ray Schofield Head Coach says "It's great to see kids get so much out of a sport and see them improve and develop their game." Ray has been coaching at the club for many years and is supported by a strong coaching team.

Club Chairman David Travis says "It's great to get reaccredited and told we are still operating at the highest possible level. There is still much to do in the club however. The hope is that many of these young people continue to play into their adult years and some even take up coaching."

Ray Schofield (Head Coach) is pictured (centre of left hand grouping) presenting Paula Wright (new Level 1 coach) and Christopher Travis (new Level 2 coach) with their certificates. David Travis (Chairman) (left of right hand grouping) was responsible for Forrest Badminton Club attaining Clubmark re-accreditation with Badminton England. David also took the opportunity to present the Club with a donation of £250 from The Royal Bank of Scotland Group where he works. The Banks charitable foundation awards grants in recognition of their staff volunteering their services in the community. David is Chairman, Level 2 coach, and Child Welfare Officer.

Badminton in general in Bolton has seen a boost through the Premier League 4 Sport Programme and the No Strings Adult Social Badminton sessions - due to take place at Horwich Leisure Centre and Harper Green Leisure Centre - Keep your eyes peeled for more details.
