Free tickets to London Grand Prix

From 1st - 6th October 2013, BADMINTON England will host the first ever London Grand Prix tournament at the Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park. As a Premier Club, BADMINTON England are offering our members free tickets for Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd. If anyone is interested in applying for some free tickets for any of these days please get in touch and let us know ASAP as the deadline to apply for tickets is Thursday 18th July 2013.

Summer Club Nights - 2013

Summer club night sessions have now commenced and wil be running all the way through to the beginning of the season. As usual they will run every Wednesday at Bolton Arena from 8pm until 10pm. All players of a league standard are welcome to attend. Beginners should consider attending our summer coaching sessions and should contact Ray Schofield (Head Coach) for details.Prices for each summer club session are as follows:

• Members £4
• Juniors £3
• Visitors £5

To ensure that the club nights are a success and that all can enjoy them we are looking for volunteers to assist in the running of the club nights. If you would like to volunteer please contact any member of the committee, David Travis, Ray Schofield, Lisa Harrison or Carolyn Wood. You won't need to commit to being there every week and the more volunteers we have the better!

We look forward to seeing you down during the summer club.

AGM - 2013

The date for this year's AGM has been set and the AGM will be held on Tueday 18th June at 8:00pm at Horwich RMI. A pasty and pea supper will also be served at 9:30pm.

If there is anything members wish to raise at the meeting then please e-mail Carolyn before Friday 31st May so that it can be added to the agenda. Members who are unable to attend should send apologies to Carolyn.

The AGM provides an opportunity for members to have a say in how the club is run and it would be fantastic to see a good turnout.

Sunday 24th March saw the finals of the Greater Manchester Junior Badminton League take place at Belle Vue Leisure Centre. Congratulations to our younger team who ended up runners-up in the Younger group competition.

Congratulations to our Whitefield B team who are champions of Whitefield & District Badminton League's Division 3. Congratulations also go to our Bolton C team who have now guaranteed the runners-up spot of Bolton Badminton League's Section B Let's have a good turnout at both presentation evenings to help them celebrate.

Whitefield Badminton League Annual Presentation Dance - Date Change

Please be aware that the date of the Whitefield & District Badminton League Presentation Dance for the 2012/13 season has changed to Friday 17th May 2013. It will still be held in the function room at Bury Drill Hall. The presentation of awards will start at 8pm. Tickets will be approximately £8. For tickets and more details please contact the League's social secretary, Miriam Brown.

Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2013

This week sees the best badminton players in the world competing in the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2013. If you are not able to make it down to the Birmingham National Indoor Arena then why not see if you can catch it on Sky Sports 4:

• Thursday 7^th March (second round) 1400-1900
• Friday 8^th March (quarter finals) 1700-2000, then Red Button 2000-2200
• Saturday 9^th March (semi finals) 1200-1800
• Sunday 10^th March (finals) 1200-1230, then Red Button 1230-1500, back to main channel 1500-1800

Whitefield Badminton League Veterans Tournament 2012

Please note that the deadline for entry into Whitefield Badminton League's Veterans Tournament is noon on Sunday 21st October 2012. Players who have competed for our teams in the Whitefield League are eligible to enter. Entry forms can be found in the center pages of your handbooks.
